This is a slim battery pack which uses a 10200mAh rechargeable battery to power your portable gadgets and charge them at the same time. It can be plugged into the power socket just like a normal power adaptor. It has almost 2.5x higher capacity than our Standard USB Battery, and would be suitable for dramatically increasing runtime when away from a power source.
A fast charge micro USB cable is built in to save space, this can be used to charge the pack from any USB socket such as a computer or iPhone charger, and also to charge your device from the pack. You can also use the USB cable provided with your device. This cable works on the same principle as PortaPow 'fast charge' cables as sold separately so will also allow you to charge your Android/Windows/Backberry from any other PC/TV/Mains/Car USB socket at high speed without going into data transfer mode.
It is compatible with virtually every device which charges from a computer or a 5V mains charger - check the mains charger supplied with your device to see if it is 5V. A micro USB cable is included, if your device uses a different shape connector you can use the cable supplied with your device. Compatibility includes the latest iPhones, iPads, Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets, Google Nexus, HTC One, Nokia Lumia, Sony Xperia, Backberry Z10 / Q10, Motorola X / Droid, LG Optimus etc, as well as bluetooth headsets, Raspberry Pi, portable speakers, and many other gadgets.
The pack is not compatible with Apple iPods or older Samsung Galaxy Tab models which use a wide shape connector since these do not charge from universal chargers. PortaPow USB Adaptors are available separately to solve these issues.
The pack supports trickle charging making it useful for charging from a solar panel, and can output power at the same time as being charged.
How does it work?
Use the USB cable supplied to charge the battery pack from a USB socket or micro USB charger such as a computer, smartphone charger, mains USB chargers, car USB chargers, or our Solar USB Charger. Then connect your device to the battery pack using the same cable, push the button to activate the pack and charge it up where ever you are. Your device (including satnavs such as the Garmin Edge) can still be used as normal during charging. Two devices can be charged at the same time.
How much battery life will it provide?
The pack can fully charge a typical smartphone or satnav 3-5 times. Tablets can be charged 0.75-1.5x depending on the model.
Which devices does it charge?
Since the pack features USB sockets, it can charge the thousands of devices which be charged or powered over USB, just use the USB cable supplied with your iPhone, iPad, etc. The built in Micro USB cable works with most non-Apple phones and many other devices. Check the picture at the top of this page to see if your device's charger matches the shape of the micro USB connector.

I have been buying and recommending PortaPower devices for years. This is the latest in their line of universal portable USB power supplies, and after a year of use is still the best I have purchased.
I have many high and low power devices and the 2 ports on the device provide ideal wattage output for my tablets, phones and smartwear.
I did have a small fault with my grey cable a few months from my purchase, but after a quick email I received the the immediate option for a full replacement, which was completed in a week. Fantastic customer service.
I will continue to recommend this product and the PortaPower service.
Good value works perfectly

What more is there to say.
I hiked this around some 130km of trekking in Nepal to keep camera, phone, iPad etc charged between the rare points of power availability. It never disappointed.

Simply switches off fully as opposed to continuing to trickle charge devices big or small,so no worries on that score.I use it all the time either whilst itself being charged or by it's stored energy - Brilliant!

I bought 2 already and very happy with it. The built-in cable is also great.

Fantastic product, I've used it everyday since I got it and have not been disappointed. Very well built, not too chunky, fits in my pocket alongside my galaxy s4 pretty comfortably whilst charging.
Love the fact it has a micro USB that fits flush in the charger, saves having to carry a separate one, and charges pretty quickly also.
Brilliant product for the price and would recommend to anyone.
Easy to use, great price

I have to admit the instructions it came with were not clear but once I figured out where I needed to insert the cable I was very happy with the product.
I used the micro USB to charge my Samsung mobile and plugged my Garmin cable into the USB port. I can't comment on how many charges you'd get as I haven't thoroughly tested it yet but it's a similar product to more expensive things like the Powergorillas but pretty much does the same thing.
Great value and I was impressed by the fast and helpful customer service too.
My only complaint is that the cable is too short - I was trying to charge the battery pack at the mains via a USB plug but it was hard to find a socket it could reach without standing it on something. This needs improving.

Does what it's supposed to do, the built in cable is a great idea, very nice design and well built
Did exactly what I wanted

I wanted something reliable to charge my phone, iPod and Garmin while camping and on long cycle rides. I was initially worried that plugging my Garmin in mid-ride would force it into sleep mode, but I bought the extra cables and it was never a problem and the Garmin recharged very quickly while I could still follow the route! Just excellent. Small, not too heavy, and relatively robust. It got slightly damp on a recent ride and has survived.
