PortaPow USB Battery

This is a battery pack which uses a 3400mAh battery to power your portable gadgets and charge them at the same time. It can be plugged into the power socket of your gadgets just like a normal power adaptor, this pack would be suitable for the following -

- To dramatically increase runtime when away from a power source.
- When travelling, carry just the PortaPow and leave all your other chargers at home.

How does it work?

Use the retractable USB cable supplied to charge the battery pack from a USB socket as found on computers, mains USB chargers and car USB chargers. Then connect your device to the battery pack using the same cable, push the button to activate the pack and charge it up where ever you are.

How much battery life will a fully charged PortaPow provide?

The capacity of the battery used in the PortaPow USB Battery is 3400mAh. This is over 50% more than similarly priced rivals such as the Power Monkey (2200mAh) or Kensington (1800mAh), and also our AA USB Battery. It is designed to be ready for use with just a partial charge, but with a full charge you can fully charge your gadgets the following number of times:

Which devices does it charge?

Since the pack features a USB socket, it can charge the thousands of devices which charge over USB. Using our retractable USB Charger cable together with its interchangeable tips extends the range of devices even further, allowing you to power many phones, PDAs, digital cameras, GPS navigators and mp3/video players. Can I charge the pack from a solar panel?

Some of our customers have asked about using a solar panel to charge the PortaPow. Unfortunately our testing has shown portable solar panels to be unsuitable for use in the UK as the Sun's intensity here is relatively low. It would take upto a month to fully charge the PortaPow from a small solar panel compared to 5 hours from a USB socket. Read our FAQ for more information.
